Vian Tour and Travel: 5-Day Northern Circuit Safari

 

This itinerary focuses on the three main highlights of the northern safari circuit: Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1: Arrival & Tarangire National Park

 

• Morning: Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by a Vian Group representative and your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, you’ll begin the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its majestic baobab trees and large herds of elephants.
• Afternoon: Arrive at the park gate and begin your first game drive. You’ll spend the afternoon exploring the park, following the Tarangire River which acts as a lifeline for wildlife, especially during the dry season. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes.
• Evening: As the sun sets, you’ll drive to your lodge or camp for check-in. You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 2: Tarangire to the Serengeti National Park

 

• Morning: After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The journey is part of the adventure, offering breathtaking views as you drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
• Afternoon: Arrive at the Serengeti gate and begin your game drive en route to your camp. The landscape quickly changes to the iconic endless plains, where you’ll start spotting a wide variety of animals.
• Evening: Arrive at your tented camp in the central Serengeti (Seronera region), the heart of the park known for its year-round concentration of predators. Settle in, have dinner, and listen to the sounds of the African bush.

Day 3: Full Day Serengeti Exploration

 

• Morning: You’ll have a full day dedicated to exploring the vast Serengeti plains. Your guide will take you on a sunrise game drive, the best time to see predators in action. This is a prime opportunity to spot lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
• Afternoon: Return to your camp for a hot lunch and a short break before heading out for another game drive in a different part of the park. Your guide will customize the route based on wildlife movements and seasonal patterns.
• Evening: Enjoy a beautiful Serengeti sunset, a final game drive, and a delicious dinner before relaxing under the star-filled sky.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

 

• Morning: After breakfast, you’ll have one last morning game drive in the Serengeti as you make your way to the exit gate.
• Afternoon: Drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a picnic lunch on the way. You may have the option to visit a Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions. The final destination is a lodge perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering magnificent views.
• Evening: Check into your lodge, where you’ll have dinner and a chance to relax while admiring the stunning scenery.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour & Departure

 

• Morning: After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day of game viewing. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an incredible natural wonder, offering a high concentration of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino. You’ll also see lions, elephants, hippos, and a diverse range of birds.
• Afternoon: Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. Afterward, you’ll ascend out of the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha.
• Evening: Arrive in Arusha for your final farewell dinner or be transferred directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure flight.
