This itinerary is perfect for visitors who are already in the Arusha area and want to experience the thrill of a safari in one of Tanzania’s world-famous parks without an overnight stay.

Full-Day Arusha National Park Trip

This is an excellent choice for a day trip due to its proximity to Arusha city and the diverse range of activities available, including walking safaris and canoeing, which are not offered in other major parks.

• Morning (7:30 AM): Your Vian Tours and Travel guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha. After a brief introduction, you will begin the scenic drive to Arusha National Park. The journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
• Late Morning (8:30 AM): Upon arrival at the park gate, you will complete the registration process. You will then start a game drive, exploring the park’s diverse habitats, including the lush Ngurdoto Crater, often called “Little Ngorongoro,” and the Momella Lakes, which are home to a large number of flamingos and other water birds. You can expect to see buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and various antelopes.
• Mid-Day (12:00 PM): Around noon, you will embark on a walking safari accompanied by an armed park ranger. This is a unique opportunity to get out of the vehicle and experience the bush on foot. The walk is easy and allows you to observe smaller animals and plant life up close.
• Lunch (1:00 PM): After your walk, you will enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic site inside the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
• Afternoon (2:00 PM): Following lunch, you have the option of continuing your game drive or choosing a canoeing excursion on one of the Momella Lakes (additional cost). This peaceful activity offers a different perspective of the wildlife, allowing you to get closer to water birds and hippos.
• Late Afternoon (4:00 PM): You’ll begin your journey back to Arusha, taking a final look at the park’s beautiful landscape.
• Evening (5:00 PM): Your guide will drop you off at your hotel in Arusha, concluding your memorable day trip.
